2014-15 NMJC Cross Country News
The Thunderbird cross country team competed this past Saturday, November 8th at the NJCAA Championships held in Lubbock, TX. The meet featured the best NJCAA schools from across the United States. There were a total of 36 full teams and 274 runners that competed in the national championship race.
The Thunderbirds played host to the Region V Championships this Saturday, October 25th.
The NJCAA #8 Ranked Thunderbirds had another strong showing at their home open meet.
The NJCAA #9 Ranked Thunderbirds showed their abilities for the first time at home this season at the NMJC Invitational. NMJC hosted region rivals Odessa Community College, Western Texas College and New Mexico Military Institute.
The NMJC Thunderbirds continued their season on Friday, September 12th at the Texas Tech Open. The weather was not good for running with a lot of rain and windy conditions. Due to the weather the course was changed just hours before the race forcing the women’s race to go from 5,000 Meters to 5,504 Meters.
