Odessa, TEXAS (November 14, 2015)
The New Mexico Junior College Men's Basketball team fell to 6-3; 0-0, on the season after falling to Sunrise Christian Academy on Saturday in their final game of the Odessa College Classic, 70-62.
Offensively, Randy Haynes and Tyler Blount led the Thunderbirds as Haynes scored 19 points while Blount chipped in with 16. Haynes added 6 rebounds to tie for the team lead with Emmanuel Ansah.
The Thunderbirds fell on hard times from behind the arc at the Classic as they shot 10-53 in their two losses over the weekend.
Next weekend the Thunderbirds will return to Caster Activity Center to play host to University of the Southwest JV and Planet Athlete on Friday and Saturday in the Tbird Classic. Admission if FREE for the weekend and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Salvation Army.
