In the final game of the Thunderbird Classic, the New Mexico Junior College Men's Basketball team didn't let a sluggish start get in the way as they downed the Planet Athlete Warriors 113-73.
The Thunderbirds saw six players score in double digits led by Freshman, Jesse Johns who came in off the bench and proceeded to knock down 4-of-6 three points attempts on his way to 18 points in 17 minutes of action.
Jalin Hart added 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Josiah Riley posted a career high 13 points as he was perfect from the field going 6-for-6. El Hadji Dieng and Tyler Blount each chipped in 11 and Nnamdi Okoro had 10.
The Thunderbirds flexed their muscle on the glass, out rebounding the Warriors 47-23. Devin Wyatt, Okoro, and Hart had two blocks each.
Next up for the Thunderbirds is Weatherford College. They will travel to Weatherford on Tuesday to take on a Coyotes team that is 1-6 on the season. Game time is set for 7:30 P.M. CST.
