The No. 18 Thunderbirds beat Amarillo College in three sets on Wednesday (25-21, 25-12, 25-20). The T-Birds have now won four straight matches.
Setter Lacie Schooley posted a double-double with 13 digs and 33 assists. Outside hitter Iva Popovic also recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs in the Wednesday night win.
Middle blocker Olivia Swipiarski registered six kills with a .750 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Maggie Machado chipped in 16 digs and seven kills. Milena Cernjanski added 22 digs from the libero spot.
The T-Birds are 17-6 overall and move to 5-2 in the conference. NMJC sits in a three-way tie for second place with Midland and New Mexico Military Institute. Odessa College leads the WJCAC with a conference record of 6-1.
The Thunderbirds will play NMMI on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Hobbs at 2 p.m. MDT.
