NMJC Volleyball goes 3-1 at Kruse Kickoff Classic in Brenham, TX

The Lady T-Birds had a busy Labor Day weekend as they competed in the Kruse Kickoff Classic in Brenham, TX. The team finished the weekend 3-1.
The women had a tough start falling to Blinn College 0-3 on Friday. Things quickly turned around for the Lady T-Birds as they won in 3 sets against Lee College Friday afternoon. Saturday was a great day for the team as they won their first match against number 18 nationally ranked Trinity Valley in 3 sets. They finished the tournament by defeating Victoria College in 3 sets.
Leading once again in kills this weekend is sophomore Kristine Teivane with 61 kills, followed by freshman Maggie Teixeira with 54 kills and freshman Kennedy Kelley with 36 kills. Freshman Lacie Schooley led the team in assists with 154 assists and 48 digs. Sophomore Ta'Nya Gibson from Crosby, TX also contributed with 61 digs.
Their next match will be on Friday, September 10th at 2PM as the season opener for NMJC at Caster Activity Center in Hobbs, NM.
