Juzzo and Company Crush Plainsmen
Kent State signee Bianca Juzzo finished with 15 points and four rebounds in the 84-52 win over the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen Saturday night.
The T-Birds dominated the first and second quarters of the game, outshooting the Plainsmen 26-8 in the first and 13-9 in the second to take the 39-17 lead into half. NMJC scored 45 points in the second half to defeat Frank Phillips by 32 points in Borger, Texas.
Delma Zita was stout from the point guard spot finishing the night with 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Forward Danna Grenald posted a solid performance for the T-Birds grabbing 10 boards and finishing with seven points. Forward Mariama Sow was the leader off the bench scoring 12 points and snatching seven rebounds in the contest.
The T-Birds shot 36-of-75 (48%) from the field, 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the charity stripe, and forced 25 turnovers in the win over Frank.
The Thunderbirds improve to 16-3 on the year and 5-1 in conference. NMJC will play Clarendon College Monday, Jan. 30 at 5:45 p.m. CDT in Clarendon, Texas.
