NMJC men's basketball bounced back in convincing fashion with a 69-55 win over the Trinity Valley Cardinals in the East West Challenge at Collin College.
The T-Birds went into halftime with a 28-22 lead and went on to outscore the Cardinals in the second half 41-33.
The Thunderbirds were led by sophomore guard Micah Jones with 21 points and five rebounds. Jones shot 50 percent from the field and went 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
Sophomore guard Josh Nwankwo chipped in 13 rebounds, eight points, and two steals in the contest. Center Jeremiah Cherry added a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks.
The T-Birds move to 3-1 on the season. NMJC will face Panola College in the East West Challenge Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m. CDT in Plano, TX.
