T-Birds Win First Game of the Season

The NMJC T-Birds had their first win of the season against the Seward County Saints Monday night in Caster Activity Center.

The T-Birds held a lead the entire game against the Saints, winning the game 110-85. The Saints put up a fight trailing the T-Birds closely throughout the first half and were down only 9 points at halftime, starting the second half 51-42. 

Seward continued to trail in the second half and was able to catch up to the T-Birds trailing by only 6 points with 10 minutes left in the half. The T-Birds were able to quickly get a 20 point lead on the Saints in the last 5 minutes of the game, defeating the Saints 110-85.

Sophomores Jordan Booker, Tommy Chatman,  Dannie Smith, and freshman Dario Domingos and Mouhamed Mbaye were the T-Bird's starting five. Booker led the team with 35 points followed by Butts who added 24 points. Smith and Mbaye both added 17 points apiece. 

The T-Birds will play their next game at home as part of the Estacado Credit Union Thunderbird Classic against Coastal Bend College on Saturday, November 6th at 5PM. They will play Redlands Community College on Sunday, November 7th against Redlands Community College at 1PM to finish the tournament.
