The New Mexico Junior College men's basketball team used a late fourt0quarter rally Thursday night ato defeat Midland college 84-80 at Caster Activity Center.
The Thunderbirds closed the game on a 6-0 run after traling 80-78 with 2:37 left in regulation.
Roosevelt Smart led NMJC with 17 points, which tied a game-high, while Damontrez Hawes and Xabier Gomez each chipped in 14 points. Shawn Olden and Makol Mawien rounded out the top performers with nine points apiece.
