Coming into play Thursday night, the New Mexico Junior College men's basketball team was undefeated on the road, winning 10 straight. Unfortunately for the Thunderbirds, that road winning streak came to an end with an 81-63 loss to Odessa College.
The T-Birds struggled in the first half, falling behind 42-23. While NMJC was able to edge the Wranglers in the second half, outscoring Odessa 40-39, the deficit was too big. Shawn Olden led NMJC with 18 points while Roosevelt Smart chipped in 16.
With the loss, NMJC falls to 17-6 on the seaon and 5-4 in WJCAC play. The T-Birds will be back in action Monday at Western Texas College in Snyder.
