Ndlovu Finishes Top-10 at Thunderbird Open
Lisel Ndlovu led the T-Birds this week at the Thunderbird Open 5k on Friday, Oct. 10 with a ninth-place finish.
Ndlovu ran a 19:39.30 at Harry McAdams Park after missing the last few weeks due to a knee injury. Sophomore transfer Lindsey Lopes also returned this meet after sitting out in Ruidoso. Lopes placed 17th with a time of 20:19.70.
Elsa Gueret was the final member to run in the Thunderbird Open. Gueret missed her last meet at the ENMU-Ruidoso Open after being a DNF at the Dr. Steve McCleery Invitational. The Castres, France native ran a 21:11.10 to finish 27th place.
NMJC was not at full strength again this week with five student-athletes out to injury or rest.
Yididiya Bifa, Ines Mrabet, Amal Kachouri, Alejandra Sierra, and Hadil Chiha all did not compete this week.
NMJC will begin the postseason at the Region V Championship Saturday, Oct. 25 at Harry McAdams Park in Hobbs, NM starting at 9:15 a.m. MDT.
