Thunderbirds finish 9th at NJCAA Championships
Jebet & Sosa earn NJCAA All-American Honors

The No. 13 ranked New Mexico Junior College Cross Country team proved the rankings don't mean anything come championship time, as they turned in a 9th place finish (333 points) at the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships.
The 9th place finish is the second best finish in school history right behind last years sixth place finish in Lubbock, TX.
Freshman, Rose Jebet finished in a time of 18:00.79, which was good enough for fourth, 0:39 seconds out of first. Sophomore, Silvia Sosa finished in 12th with a time of 18:50.42. Both Jebet and Sosa earned NJCAA All-American honors for their efforts.
Sophomore Naomi Tanui earned Cross Country Coaches Associate All-American Honors as she finished in 27th running a time of 19:24.00.
Next up for the Thunderbirds will be the NJCAA Half-marathon Championships on November 21, 2015 in Levelland, TX. The Half-marathon will be hosted by South Plains College.
