Tbirds impressive at WTC Invite
Jebet captures individual title
Snyder, TEXAS
On Saturday, September 5th, 2015, the NMJC Cross Country Team traveled to Snyder, TX to compete in the Western Texas College Invitational. The women dominated the competition by placing four runners in the top eight.
Leading the way for the Tbirds was Rose Jebet who won the meet with a time of 20:29. "Rose ran very well considering the hot conditions" Head Cross Country Coach Jeff Becker said. Rounding out the rest field for the Tbirds was Silvia Sosa in 3rd (21:59), Naomi Tanui in 6th (23:14) and Cassidy Reddell in 8th (24:35). The Tbirds did not have a fifth runner due to injuries.
We're very pleased with the progress the girls have shown since we've begun training, said Becker. We're nursing some injuries so the two week break we have between meets will allow us to heal.
Up next for the Tbirds is the NMJC Invitational at Harry McAdams Park in Hobbs on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00am.
