Tony Dougherty
Bio

Coach Dougherty works primarily with the throwers here at NMJC. 

He is no stranger to the NJCAA, prior to coming to NMJC Dougherty spent 30 year's coaching in the NJCAA Region I. He spent 12 year's at Pima College and 18 year's at Central Arizona College. While at Central Arizona College, Coach Dougherty was the throws coach, Head Women's Track and Field Coach and most recently the director of the Men's and Women's Track and Field Program.

Sucess has followed Coach Dougherty, he has helped his student/athletes to graduate and move on to universities. He has also helped guide former athletes to represent their countries in the Olympics and World Track and Field Championships.

Dougherty recived a Bachelor of Science from The University of Arizona and a Masters Degree from The University of Northern Arizona  

During his coaching year's Dougherty has coached 360 NJCAA All-Americans and 52 NJCAA National Champions. His athletes currently hold 7 NJCAA National Records (Women's Hammer, Women's Weight Throw, Women's Outdoor Shot Put, Women's Indoor Shot Put, Women's Discus, Men's Hammer, Men's Indoor Shot Put).
