Thunderbirds Named 2024-25 USTFCCCA NJCAA Women's Program of the Year
The Thunderbirds earned the USTFCCCA NJCAA Women's Program of the Year for the 2024-25 season for the third consecutive season.
The award is given to a program that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the school's finish at their respective championships.
The 2024-25 season was the year of the three for NMJC. The T-Birds finished third in women's cross country, third in women's indoor track & field, and third in women's outdoor track & field.
The total was nine points overall which was eight in front of second place Cloud County CC (17), and 10 points ahead of Odessa College (19).
The men's team finished second with 11 points following a seventh place finish in cross country, a runner-up in indoor track & field, and a runner-up finish in outdoor track & field. They trailed first place Iowa Western who totaled eight points.
In coaching news, keep an eye out this summer for NMJC women's track & field head coach Kathleen Raske as she travels to be a key presenter at the Mid-Summer Summit for Women hosted by Let's Go T&F/XC.
