As a Freshman- Latavia had an outstanding freshman year for the T-Birds. She finished 2nd in the Indoor Triple jump at the NJCAA Championships. At the same meet she finished 3rd in the Pentathlon and 8th in the 60 Hurdles scoring a total of 15 points for the national runner up T-Birds. Coombs continued her success during the outdoor portion of the season. At the NJCAA National meet she won the Triple jump, finished 4th in the Heptathlon and 8th in the Long Jump and scoring 16 points for the team. For her efforts outdoor she was named the USTFCCCA West Regional Field Event Athlete of the Year.
