Quincy Montoya made her move in the second go of the breakaway roping recording 2.0 second run on Monday, June 15.
Montoya began her College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) with a 2.8 second run Sunday night. The finish put her in a tie for 15th place after the first go round. The sophomore finished second in the second go with a 2.0 run. She is in the top 5 overall in the average at 4.8 seconds with a few breakaway ropers to go in the second round. "Quincy is the most confident I've ever seen her and it's showing," NMJC women's head coach Alexa Wilcox said. "She's got great horse power and we've had a great few weeks of practice preparing for Casper. I think all of her hard work is paying off and we are excited to watch her take care of business the rest of the week."
