NMJC at TSU Rodeo Results April 20-22,2017

NMJC's Hayes and McLeod Win TSU Team Roping Title

          NMJC's Rodeo Men's and Women's Team finished up the 2017 Spring Rodeo season this past weekend at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX, in which the NMJC Men's Team won the TSU Rodeo Men's Championship by scoring 590 points. TSU Men's Team was second scoring 485 points.

              The team roping duo Wyatt Hayes (header) and Tyce McLeod (heeler) won the TSU Team Roping Championship for NMJC by winning first in the long go and third in the short go. This team also won Howard college TR-Championship earlier this month. Other NMJC Team Members scoring points were Quentin Branden second in the average steer wrestling, and Preston Burr second in the average saddle bronc riding.

Other NMJC Team Members making it to short round:

             Quentin Branden (heeler) and Rylea Fabrisio (header) in team roping split placed 7^th with the time of 7.4 sec. in long go, but had a no time in short go. Tyce McLeod in steer wrestling split 4^th/5^th/6 in the long go with the time of 5.0 sec., but had a no time in short.  Ed Beardsworth in steer wrestling was 8^th in the long go with the time of 5.0 sec., but had a no time in the short go. Shelby Spielman was the only lady making it back to the short go in breakaway roping, she placed 3^rd in the long go with the time of 2.5 sec., but had a not time in the short go.

             At this time NMJC Men's Team will send three members to the NIRA College Finals June 11-17, 2017 in Casper, Wyoming. They are Preston Burr in saddle bronc riding, Wyatt Hayes in tie down roping and team roping (header) and his partner Tyce McLeod (heeler).
