2016 Texas Tech Rodeo
NMJC at Texas Tech Rodeo Results October 27-29, 2016
The Texas Tech Equestrian Center was the site for the NIRA/SWR Texas Tech University Rodeo, fifth and last Fall 2016 rodeo. NMJC had five men and one woman qualify for the short go in Saturday evenings finale. Ed Beardsworth from Innisfail, AB led the way for the NMJC Men's Team finishing 2nd in the average in steer wrestling, and Preston Burr from Stratford, TX, finished 4th in the average in saddle bronc riding. Other NMJC team members qualifying for the short round, but not finishing in the average were Quentin Branden in steer wrestling, James D. Reed in saddle bronc riding, Tyce McLeod in tie down roping and NMJC's Woman's Team Member Swaize Lee in team roping. NMJC Men's team finished in 7th place with 195 points, and Tarleton State Men won the team title with 390 points.
