Rodeo competes at Vernon College Rodeo
Spielman continues improvement in Barrel Racing.
Vernon, TEXAS -
The Vernon College Rodeo was hosted in Vernon, TX October 2-3, 2015 in which three NMJC Rodeo Team members qualified for the short round Saturday evening. Represent the NMJC Women's Team was Shelby Spielman (Fr) from Dalhart, TX, barrel racer. Shelby placed 7th in the long go with the time of 17.31 sec., 17.38 sec. in the short go placing 6th, but 8th in the average with the time of 34.69 sec. on two runs.
NMJC Men had two team ropers make it to the short round, but had No Times in the short go. Kody King (So) heeler from Fort Sumner, NM and his heading partner Riley Hayes of South Plains College split 7/8/9 in the long go with the time of 7.0 sec. Keely Bonnett (So) heeler from Ponoka, AB, Canada and his heading partner Tew Casey from Weatherford College placed 10th in the long go with a time of 7.1 sec.
The NMJC Rodeo team will take to the road this coming weekend to Perryton, TX, where Frank Phillips College will be host for the fourth of five South West Region rodeos this fall.
