Rodeo continues season at Sul Ross State Rodeo
Rodeo sees three make it back to short go
Alpine, TEXAS -
The NMJC Rodeo team competed at the second of five Southwest Region/NIRA Rodeos September 24th through September 26th at the Sul Ross State University Rodeo in Alpine, TX.
During the weekend, only three NMJC Rodeo student-athletes made it back to the short go on Saturday night. For the NMJC Women, freshmen Shelby Spielman from Dalhart, TX made it back in barrel racing splitting 8th /9th in the long go with the time of16.70 sec. Her short go time of 16.68 sec. was good for 8th and with a combined time on two runs of 33.38 sec., she end up 9th in the average.
The only participants for the NMJC Men's Team in the short round were in team roping where sophomore Wyatt Hayes (header) and freshmen Tyce McLeod (heeler) both from Saskatchewan, Canada were 7th in the long go with a time of 6.8 sec., but had a no time in the short go taking them out of the average.
The Thunderbird Rodeo Teams travel to Vernon College Rodeo in Vernon, TX which will begin on Thursday, October 1, 2015 and run through Saturday, October 3, 2015.
