NMJC's Wigemyr, Collier to take part in CNFR
Event begins Sunday in Casper, Wyo.
HOBBS, N.M. — New Mexico Junior College will have a pair of representatives competing at the College National Finals Rodeo when the event begins Sunday in Casper, Wyo.
Sophomore Devin Wigemyr will compete as a heeler in team roping while freshman Kellie Collier will compete in barrel racing at the week-long event.
Wigemyr – from Brooks, Alberta, Canada – finished fourth in the Southwest Region standings as a team roping heeler with 310 points. He'll join Landon Howell Williams of Tarleton State (580 points), Wesley Jameson Thorp of Ranger College (405 points) and Levi Garrett Lord of Eastern New Mexico (325 points).
Collier – from Hereford, Texas – finished third in the region in barrel racing with 490 points. She finished behind Odessa College's Rylee Jo Dick (655 points) and Tarleton State's Shelby Herrmann (645 points) as all three will be at the CNFR.
