James Breaks Own School Record in Albuquerque
The Thunderbird men's track & field team competed at the Don Kirby Twilight in Albuquerque, NM on April 24.
The Thunderbirds had four new improved qualifiers, one new individual qualifier, and one school record broken.
LeBron James led the way this week with a school record throw of 74.63m in the javelin. He improved on his previous national mark by 1.42m. The toss breaks his own school record from 2025 and is No. 1 in the NJCAA for the event.
Jumper Aaron McKenzie improved on his national mark by .06m in the high jump with a leap of 2.08m. Pavashe Muzokomba was a national qualifier in the long jump with his mark of 7.64m.
Romain Toth continues to whittle his 800m time down during the outdoor season. The sophomore ran a 1:50.08 to improve on his national standard by 1.03 seconds. Erwan Darrieulat was also an improved qualifier in the 800m with a time of 1:52.95. He improved by .47 seconds.
The T-Birds next meet is Thursday, April 30 in Lubbock, Texas at the Corky Shootout.
