Aymane El Haddaoui to Run at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games
NMJC sprinter Aymane El Haddaoui is competing at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games this week.
The Moroccan is running under the T-47 classification that deals with upper limbs disabilities. El Haddaoui has a wrist impairment which qualified him for the Paralympics under the T-47 distinction.
The T-Bird is set to compete Friday, Aug. 30 at 4:57 a.m. MDT in the first round of the men's 100m T-47 (Heat 1-Lane 9). The final will be later in the day on Friday at 11:29 a.m. MDT. El Haddaoui has a season-best run of 10.84 in the 100m.
This summer El Haddaoui ran in the Handisport Open Paris where he set the world record for the T45-47 classification with his 400m time of 46.67. The T-Bird track & field athlete will be a favorite to medal in the 400m next week in Paris, France when he competes in the first round of the 400m at the Stade de France.
The Sale Rabat, Morocco native will run in the 400m at 3:17 a.m. MDT on Friday, Sept. 6. The final is set for Saturday, Sept. 7 at 12:59 p.m. MDT.
El Haddaoui's races at the 2024 Paralympic Games will be streamed live on Peacock.
