5 T-Birds Head to Texas-New Mexico JUCO All-Star Weekend

Five Thunderbird baseball players were selected to participate in the Texas-New Mexico JUCO All-Star Weekend at Dallas Baptist University Sept. 19-20.

Right-handed pitchers Ricardo Rojas and Brandon Stewart will take to the mound alongside outfielder Casen Savage, outfielder Jeter Battles, and infielder Talan Barraza. 

Ricardo Rojas was a Second Team All-WJCAC selection in 2025 with a 9-3 record, a 5.17 ERA, and 46 strikeouts in 62.2 innings of work. Brandon Stewart went 4-1 in 2025 with a 6.92 ERA in 40.1 innings pitched. 

Center fielder Casen Savage picked up First Team All-WJCAC and All-Region honors in 2025 batting .337 with 48 RBI, 20 doubles, 12 homers, and 12 stolen bases. Left fielder Jeter Battles ended 2025 batting .364 with 62 runs scored and 20 stolen bases. 

Shortstop Talan Barraza batted .313 with 57 runs scored and 43 RBI. On the defensive side, Barraza made 95 putouts and 32 double plays.
