Kade Benavidez Receives NMJC Athletic Dutch Klein Award
The Dutch Klein Thunderbird Award is the most prestigious award given to a student/athlete at New Mexico Junior College. The recipient not only exhibits athletic ability but also the qualities of leadership,scholarship, and citizenship. This year, the Dutch Klein Award goes to baseball player Kade Benavidez.
Kade has a cumulative GPA of 3.94. He was on the fall 2020 WJCAC honor roll, spring 2021 WJCAC honor roll, fall 2021 WJCAC honor roll, received the Valencia County Chamber of Commerce scholarship, NM Hall of Fame scholarship, and a partial academic scholarship to NMSU.
Kade will be attending New Mexico State University in the fall of 2022 where he will continue his baseball career with the Aggies and major in engineering.
