Bio
Jimmy Durham coached baseball for over 35 years. He comes to NMJC from San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas where he was the assistant baseball coach for the past 11 seasons. During that time, San Jacinto went to the NJCAA World Series seven times and finished as runner up three times. San Jacinto won Conference titles from 2007 - 2013 and 2015 -2016. From 2001 - 2005, Jimmy served as the assistant coach under Ray Birmingham at NMJC when the TBirds won Conference titles in 2002 and 2005, and were NJCAA National Champions in 2005. Prior to NMJC, he served as the assistant coach at Houston Baptist University from 1994 - 2000. Durham played collegiately at Ranger Junior College, Texas from 1978 - 1979, winning the NJCAA National Championship in 1978. He transferred to Lubbock Christian College where he played from 1980 - 1981 playing in two NAIA World Series. Durham earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Lubbock Christian College in 1982, and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Houston. He has five children: Tyler (26), Maggie (25), Kyle (22), Andrew (20) and AnnaMae (18).
